TSDOS: Transmission & Substation Design & Operation Symposium

Join Vaisala's North American Power Team on September 6th through the 8th at the 56th Annual Transmission & Substation Design & Operation Symposium.   At location E2,E3,E4, our team will be available to answer all your questions about the world's first maintenance-free multi-gas DGA monitor. Vaisala's Mark Gross will be speaking on Thursday, September 7th, from 3pm-5pm on the topic of "How Xcel Energy used offline and online dissolved gas analysis to diagnose and identify critical faults forming in a transformer before catastrophic failure".   Click below to become familiar with our USA power offering and one-of-a-kind innovation.  We look forward to getting the conversation started!

Abstract: Xcel Energy improves transformer fault assessments using online DGA monitoring

This case study goes over the Xcel Energy Substation Field Engineering team’s steps to (1) identify a faulty transformer with “offline” DGA lab sampling; (2) analyze the issue with additional tests and what these showed; (3) determine why a decision to install online DGA monitoring was made. And in closing to (4) shows the results of the case study and the lessons learned. Presented by Colby Morris of Xcel in conjunction with Mark Gross of Vaisala Inc.
