Four Drying Profiles for Accurate Moisture Content Determination

The MA 5Y moisture analyzer offers you four drying profiles: standard, mild, fast and step. Choose the one that suits your sample.

  • The standard profile is the drying profile used most often. It allows the most accurate determination of moisture content.
  • The mild profile is designed for drying substances that are sensitive to the rapid heat released by the filaments, which heat at full power at the initial stage of the process. An example of such a substance is leather.
  • Use the fast profile for samples with significant moisture content – of the order of even several tens of percent.
  • The step profile is ideal for drying substances that contain more than 15 percent moisture. Within this profile you can define any three temperatures. You choose the temperature values and heating duration experimentally.

What Drying Temperature Should I Set? Up to 160 °C

The drying temperature determines the duration of the moisture determination process, and its value depends on the type of material. A temperature that is too low under-dries the sample and unnecessarily increases the measurement time, while a temperature that is too high burns the material. For the traditional (oven) method, the drying temperature is determined by industry or factory standards. If there are no standards, you select the temperature experimentally.

The MA 5Y moisture analyzer allows drying at temperatures of up to 160 °C.

How Do I Finish the Drying? Four Finish Modes

The MA 5Y moisture analyzer has four finish modes: automatic, manual, time-defined and user-defined.

  • Automatic mode
  • Manual mode
  • Time-defined mode
  • User-defined mode
When all volatile components are removed from a sample, its mass should by definition be constant. During drying, the dry mass of the sample is defined by a condition: if the mass of the sample is stable within 1 mg during the observation time (Auto 1-5), all volatile components are considered to have been removed from its structure.

10-Inch ELLIPSIS Terminal Display

A bigger 10″ screen means more information in one place. On the new ELLIPSIS terminal you see up to 3 screens, widgets, graphs, statuses, notes and a handy measurement history. The terminal also confirms that your moisture analyzer is ready for use, and informs you when the analyzer needs an inspection or a periodic audit of its accuracy and sensitivity.

Uncompromising User Verification: Password, RFID, Fingerprint, Face Recognition

For the first time ever, the moisture analyzer verifies the user using a password, RFID card, fingerprint reader, facial recognition mechanism, or any combination of these. ELLIPSIS works with RFID tags* that you can use to tag your products or formulation ingredients in the database. They can also be used to identify a user.

Ambient Light – an Innovative Way for the Moisture Analyzer to Communicate With the User

The colour of the light tells you about the status of the moisture analyzer, process results, procedures and alerts – at a glance, even from a distance.

Hotspot – Use the Moisture Analyzer From Your Smartphone, Tablet or Computer

Use the moisture analyzer on any device connected to it – a smartphone, tablet or computer.

Live Note – Note Down Your Conclusions

For the first time you can add a text memo to a measurement series or procedure report. These can be, for example, assumptions, reminders or questions that you can return to at any time.

Modbus TCP/IP – Easy Integration With Industrial Automation

Modbus TCP/IP is one of the most popular communication protocols in industrial automation. Implementing it in the 5Y balances and CY10 scales makes the devices of this series friendly to automation integrators.

A balance or scale in a Modbus system is a slave device and performs tasks specified by the master device, which is most often a PLC. The Modbus TCP/IP protocol in the 5Y balances and CY10 scales enables, among other things, mass readout, zeroing and taring of the device, as well as tare settings and MIN and MAX thresholds.

Functions

Autotest

Diagnostic function aiming at metrological parameters determination (repeatability), the parameters are determined for the actual conditions of use. When speaking of repeatability it may be also used for weighing time optimization. Autotest is operated in an automatic mode thus operator’s time is saved.

Statistics

Statistiscs function registers and analyses performed measurements. This supplies the user withthe following information: Max and Min standard deviation, average value, variance, range et.

IR sensors

Programmable function supporting the weighing process through control of the following options: sliding weighing chamber doors, printout, zeroing, tarring etc. Especially appreciated wherever preventing the balance from soiling is important.

MA 200/1.5Y Moisture Analyzer

GLP Procedures

Diagnostic function allowing to objectively document performed measurements. GLP procedures may be either presented in a short report form or extended one.

Replaceable unit

Weight function to change the weight unit.

Statistical Quality Control

Statistical control for determination of basic statistical criteria: maximum, minimum, standard deviation, mean values for each batch, etc.

ALIBI Memory

"ALIBI" memory enables saving and storing up to 100000 measurements. Measurements are saved automatically upon each pressing of the key. There is no need for any additional operations or changing settings.

Drying modes

Method for obtaining maximum drying temperature. There are 4 drying profiles: standard, mild, step, fast. The profiles differ by which ensure various dynamics of temperature increase.

MA 200/1.5Y Moisture Analyzer

Samples drying

Drying process enables to determine moisture content of a given sample by evaporating its free water and other components. The sample's moisture content [%M] is determined by means of precise weighing carried out before and during the drying process.

Moisture content analysis

Determination of sample's moisture content.

Dry mass determination

Determination of product mass after completed technological, physical and chemical processes enforcing product moisture evaporation. RADWAG moisture analyzers are designed to test the moisture content by heating of the samples, which is done using an IR emitter, a halogen or a metal heater.

Wi-Fi ®

Thanks to wireless communication between the computer and a balance, it is possible to use a balance inside a laminar flow hood and a fume cupboard.

Audit Trail is a kind of a log where all modifications of balance settings, changes in database records and user activity are recorded. Audit Trail, for example, keeps record of previous and new modifications in databases and informs by whom and when they were introduced. This log allows the administrator to track and find out who logged in, when, who signed a document or who used invalid password.

The Audit Trail Reader freeware allows users, upon connection with a balance, to display Audit Trail log and manage it by generating reports of various formats: pdf, xls, csv, html.
