It is based on the latest solutions and an advanced computing platform. Versatile terminal’s software will satisfy even the most demanding users and system integrators. The basic version of the terminal features a vast range of communication interfaces, which range can additionally be expanded.

Housing

The housing, made of AISI 304 stainless steel, ensures high ingress protection, IP66 / IP67. The terminal is equipped with 7” colour LCD display and membrane keyboard. Ease of operation, clear menu and intuitive information arrangement on the display guarantee comfort of operation. Hermetic communication interface connectors are located on the back side of the housing. Stable mount bracket enables to mount the terminal either on a flat horizontal surface or on the wall. The device tilt can be easily adjusted.

Diodes

Diode bar graph is located on the top of the operation panel and consists of 9 red and green diode fields. The terminal features 3 working modes: 'linear', 'weighing thresholds signalling' and 'checkweighing'. The bar graph significantly increases the comfort of operation during piecework in food industry when fast and unambiguous presentation of product mass deviation against the declared min and max values is crucial.

Multifunctional Software

Terminal software facilitates processes such as weighing, parts counting, dosing, labelling, formulations and percent weighing. Terminal’s information system is based on databases (such as: users, products, weighings, packaging, formulations, customers) and ALIBI memory which guarantees stored data safety. When developing the software, special attention was given to the functionality and ergonomics. This resulted in increased comfort of terminal operation.

PUE HX7 Weighing Terminal

Optional Power Source from Internal Battery

Use of the optional battery enables the PUE HX7 terminal to operate even when there is either no or unstable power supply. This improves the security of acquired data and improves comfort of operation.

Communication Interfaces

The terminal is equipped with RS 322, RS 485, USB, Ethernet, digital inputs/outputs and analog output. This enables connection with external devices such as barcode scanners, printers, external displays, control buttons, light signalling towers, other controlling/signalling devices, systems for automatic process control and superior IT systems. The connection is possible due to the implemented and complex character-based communication protocol. In the future, the interfaces will be extended with Profibus and Profinet. Additionally, Modbus RTU and TCP protocols will be implemented.

PUE HX7 Weighing Terminal

PUE HX7 in a Version Powered from a ZR-04/2 Buffer Power Supply

The terminal can operate even though there is no access to a power source in a special design with power supply from an external buffer power supply ZR-04. The special design consists in modifying the standard version of the PUE HX7 terminal to a variant of this terminal adapted for power supply from a buffer power supply ZR-04/2. The ZR-04/2 set includes a voltage converter and a powerbank.

In a special design, the PUE HX7 weighing terminal has a 12-24V DC power socket to which the dedicated ZR-04/2 buffer power supply can be connected. The terminal can be powered only from the ZR-04/2 buffer power supply, not from the 110-230V AC mains or the internal battery. The powerbank can be charged using an external charger, after disconnection from the weighing terminal. The powerbank runs on one set of batteries while the other is charging.

The maximum operating time for the HX7 terminal is 20 hours, and the average is 12 hours. The operating time depends on the number of connected peripherals and the power drawn from the terminal.

Functions

Dosing

Weighing process for which reference mass has been determined together with tolerance for its determination. Dosing tolerance is given in [%] and it is calculated in relation to the reference value thus being a permissible deviation of this process. This solution is used for weighing powders, liquids and loose materials. Dosing function performance is often supported with bargraph - load indicator. For industrial scales it is possible to use a control systems of dosing process.

Percent Weighing

Percent Weighing function is used for comparision of measured products with mass standard. Mass of a mass standard may be a numeric value taken from a database or it may be determined through a measurement process. Each measured product is compared to mass standard, mass of which is presumed as a model 100% ideal mass. For products weighing less than the mass standard, obtained results are lower than 100%, for products weighing more, the obtained results are greatly exceeded.

Parts counting

Function using mass measurement for determination of measured items quantity. Mass of a single item is required for this process. It may be either estimated through weighment or taken from a database. For items counting the following algorithm is used: all items mass / single item mass = quantity. Function operation is supperted by a mechanism of Automatic Correction of Accuracy. This allows to update single item mass in course of the process. To a certain extend Automatic Correction of Accuracy eliminates error which may be a result of different mass values of seemingly alike single elements. For industry solutions items counting may be simultaneously carried out with checkweighing and dosing thus industry solutions feature audio signalling base informing that specified number of items has been weighed. It is possible to apply weighing systems using few platfroms of different MAX capacities and different accuracies.

Formulation

Function supporting the mixture making process, wherein the mixture contains various components. Formulation function usually uses the balance/scale database of components. Formulation serves for monitored checkweighing of every single component with a given tolerance. It is enriched with a set of individual settings.

Replaceable unit

Weight function to change the weight unit.

ALIBI Memory

"ALIBI" memory enables saving and storing up to 100000 measurements. Measurements are saved automatically upon each pressing of the key. There is no need for any additional operations or changing settings.
The following data related with the measurements is saved: measurement date; measurement time; result (mass); tare value; operator carrying out the measurement (logged in); product name.
The software saves the measurement in a so called loop, i.e. when the measurement no. 100001 is saved, the measurement 1 gets automatically deleted from the memory.
Measurements saved to balance memory cannot be deleted.
You can preview and print out the data saved to the ALIBI database.

Character communication protocol is designed for communication between RADWAG balance and external device via RS232, Ethernet or Wi-Fi®®* interfaces.

The protocol consists of commands sent from the external device to the balance and responses sent from the balance to the device.

Responses are sent from the balance each time a command is received as a response to the command.

The commands that make up the communication protocol allow you to obtain information about the status of the balance and ways to influence its operation, for example, they allow you to receive weighing results from the balance, control the display, etc.
