Dew point is the temperature at which air — or a gas — becomes saturated and water vapor starts to condense. Unlike relative humidity, it does not depend on process temperature: that makes it the preferred control variable when the goal is to prevent condensation or guarantee dry air — in compressed air, industrial drying and data center climate control.

What makes Vaisala's DRYCAP® technology unique
Vaisala measures dew point with DRYCAP®, a capacitive thin-film polymer sensor specialized in very dry gases: the polymer absorbs and releases water molecules according to the humidity of the gas, changing the capacitance that the probe's electronics convert into a dew point reading. Two characteristics set it apart in industrial environments: the auto-calibration function, which corrects sensor drift automatically during operation, and condensation tolerance — the sensor recovers within minutes after getting wet, with no damage or loss of calibration.
