Temperature is the most measured variable in industry and the one with the widest reach in the AKRIBIS portfolio. It is rarely measured alone: in practice it accompanies humidity, CO2 and dew point, and derived variables that no process can calculate without it depend on its reading. It is in the continuous logging regulators require in pharmaceutical cleanrooms, in the ranges ASHRAE recommends for data centers and in the cold chain traceability of warehouses and storage facilities.
It is also the magnitude that most crosses the AKRIBIS ecosystem: instrumentation measures it, cold chain equipment —chambers, freezers and −80 °C ultra-freezers— sustains the measured condition, and the metrology laboratory certifies it with calibrations and thermal mappings traceable to the SI. Measuring, maintaining and certifying the same variable within a single platform is what turns a reading into data you can defend in an audit.

What makes Vaisala's temperature measurement reliable
Vaisala measures temperature with platinum RTD elements —Pt100 and Pt1000—, the industrial standard for stability and repeatability: a resistor whose value changes with temperature in a known, linear way, which the instrument's electronics convert into a reading. In the line AKRIBIS represents, the temperature element travels integrated in the same probes and transmitters that measure humidity and CO2, so a single instrument delivers temperature along with the variables derived from the temperature–humidity pair, such as dew point or wet-bulb temperature.
